As yesterday's clips hinted at, today, it's time for a dose of law, order, and justice along with some good old fashion hard time. Debuting in 1985, Ray Traylor would first gain widespread fame in the NWA. Known as "Big" Bubba Rogers, he served as a bodyguard for Jim Cornette and the Midnight Express. After a year, he would jump to the WWF, and became known as his most famous character, the Big Boss Man. Playing off of his previous experience as a prison guard, Bossman would defeat his opponents, and then handcuff them to the ropes, and mercilessly beat them with the night stick. After defeating Koko B. Ware at Summerslam, Bossman turned his sights on the WWF World Title, and Hulk Hogan. The two would feud extensively, and also played into the break up of the Mega Powers. Wrestlemania V would see Bossman, and his partner Akeem, defeat the Rockers. However, soon after, Bossman would learn that his manager, Slick, had been paid off to send Bossman after the Million Dollar Belt. Upset at this, Bossman left Slick's side, and fended off his former partner on his own before feuding with Earthquake, as well as the Heenan Family. However, this would be his final time at the mid-card status, and in 1993, Bossman left the WWF. After a brief stay in Japan, he would return to WCW, briefly as The Boss, and the Guardian Angel. He would return to his Bubba Rogers name, and joined the NWO. After leaving the company once again, he returned to the WWF, serving as the protection for the Corporation. His only title during this reign would be the WWF Hardcore Title. He would face the Undertaker at Wrestlemania XV in a losing effort. Around this time, he would also take part in two infamously horrid feuds against Al Snow and the Big Show, the latter featuring Big Show surfing on his "father's" casket at a cemetery. After the dissolution of the Corporation, Bossman introduced Bull Buchanon as his protege. The two found moderate success in the tag team ranks, but never could crash through the proverbial glass ceiling. After the break up of the duo, Bossman largely disappeared from the majority of WWF TV. He would be assigned to OVW to train new wrestlers before leaving the company entirely. He would continue wrestling, all the way into 2004. Less than a week after a match, Traylor would suffer a fatal heart attack at the age of 42. Despite not being a main eventer for the majority of his career, many fondly remember the Big Bossman, myself included. Inside the ring, to take a quote from former WWF announcer Jesse Ventura, he was just plain mean. He loved using a Wind Up Uppercut to floor his opponents, as well as another Uppercut, in which he would slide out of the ring, and clock his opponent while they leaned on the ropes. He loved using the Spinebuster to weaken his opponents, and the Bossman Slam would always bring him victory once the opponent felt its devastating force.
