Behold, how good and pleasant was written especially for the Sanctuary Choir by former Beecher Singer, Jonathan Wey. Jonathan has a bachelors degree in music composition from the IU Jacobs School of Music and a Masters in Choral Conducting from Butler University. The music strives for simplicity, maintained in part by the constant presence of a D-flat hummed throughout the piece by various voices in the choir. The women sing cascading melodic scales in canon, conjuring the image of the "dew of Hermon running down upon the mountains". The piece closes with a reiteration of the opening line "Behold, how good and pleasant it is for brethren to dwell in unity", instilling a sense of peace and calm.
