In the late 1930's the original story of War of the World's was broadcasted in New York City by Orson Welles who picked Grover's Mill New Jersey as the setting. But little did he know that lots of people thought it was a News broadcast about something actually happening. The people of Grover's Mill got petrified and ended up shooting down their local water tower thinking it was the UFO the Radio was talking about. In this footage my Dad and I walked around Grover's Mill and looked at a monument about it placed in Van Nest Park. The skeleton of the water tower still stands today in someone's private back yard and is very visible from the road. That too is documented in this video.

  • I thought it was in the evening on October 30th? At least that's what the history books say.
