the worst thing about the impact crater are its two metroid denizens...the damn Fission Metroid and Metroid Prime and thanks this is the song I like Shang you know the one I thought it was the Phazon Mines...^^;; anyways 5/5 favs

Pro Tip: Don't kill the Fission metroids with beam weapons. Just make you way through the crater, and if a bunch of them come, turn into morph ball mode, let them converge on you (one will latch on) and plant a power bomb. (You did collect all the power bomb expansions right?) It kills all metroids, including colored ones around you instantly regardless of type/color. There is even a missile refill room half way through. The crater is now easy mode.
