PlusMissing Pyramid Found in EgyptMissing Pyramid Found in EgyptThe Associated PressEgyptian archaeologists have uncovered the 'missing pyramid' of a pharaoh and a ceremonial procession road where high priests carried mummified remains of sacred bulls, Egypt's antiquities chief said Thursday. (June 5)It's not every day that you stumble upon a missing pyramid, but that's exactly what archaeologists in Egypt have done.SOT Dr Zahi Hawass, Egyptian Supreme Council for Antiquities "We found the burial chamber and we found also the lid of a sarcophagus Only the base remains of what has been known as the "missing pyramid" or "headless pyramid" of a pharaoh. This one was actually first discovered back in the 1800s but was covered by 25 feet of desert sands and no one had been able to find it since.SOT Hawasswe did not discover yet the entrance of the pyramid because it's located underneath this (turns and points) village. • LOL It's amusing how you can sling labels at me, but were I to return the favor, I'd be demonized. That's all right, I'm not interested in labels, only history. The Hyksos were simply Canaanites, nothing more. The word Hyksos is Egyptian in origin. Many remained in Lower Egypt, and, in fact, Ramesses II was almost certainly descended from them. Egypt was a patchwork, a cosmopolitan society...which was one of their key, enduring strengths.

  • Hawass is a Hyksos, eh? Odd, considering the Hyksos disappeared around 3,400 years ago. He probably is descended from the Arabic peoples who conquered Egypt in the mid-seventh century CE, but down through time, through intermarriage, he must have native Egyptian blood, too. Unless you're one of those who thinks all Egyptians were the same color of skin, as though they'd been manufactured from cookie-cutters.

  • If the pyramid was missing how did they know it was missing ? Hawass doesn't even know who was buried there,so what makes him think it was missing ? In order to lose something you have to have known where it was to begin with. Hawass is so full of it. Who put him in charge anyway ?
