Tutorial on types of rocket fuels, solid vs liquid, specific impulse, and proper units of measure of physical quantities. Roughly parallels the Civil Air Patrol Cadet Aerospace Education Module 4. See www.midnighttutor.com for a larger format video.
@Spadie1 Do you know how hot hydrogen and oxygen burns? really really hot (>6000 F), you cant burn hydrogen and oxygen in the 2:1 ratio for long, 6:1 burns "colder" and is do able. The actual ratio is 5.5:1...
@Jayc2592 how would that work? two hydrogen molecules and one oxygen molecule make one water molecule when reacted, as they are in the space shuttle. What are you claiming occurs?
heres how i think of the term ISP i put it into a phrase like
iodinamic spectrums that go in or out of a planets solar system in other words they are particles but you just cant see them in the human eyes thats my logical gues.
The hydrogen and the oxygen are both in the space shuttles external tank in separate vessels at a 2:1 ratio which makes sense if you think of H2O. I know you will know this now but just wanted to say for other people who watched the video.
@Jayc2592 Can you provide a link to your source? I will be interested in reading it.

@Spadie1 I beileve the shuttle is actually a 6:1 ratio

like when you blow with your mouth you cant see the air particles but they are there

Really enjoyed watching this so far. I hope you will get into more mathematical aspects of rocketry such as predicting trajectories, etc.
