Hyuk failed at templar sniping, and also made a huge mistake when he split his forces and neither flanked nor did any real damage to Pure's natural.

Because it also requires OTHER hts be present and waste storms. That, or a goon army / sair army be there. So it's really 2 dts + research + using 2 hts energy. Instead of that, you could just get more hts - hts you could try to snipe mutas with anyhow, or morph into archons. Hts just have more utility than the maelstrom gambit, imo.
