She's like a female Garth from Wayne's World.

I just saw her on an old episode of "Just for Laughs". She was brilliant so I sought her out on YouTube. She didn't disappoint.
Maria's material is highly intelligent and very tuned into cultural and literary references. Plus she is completely fearless and immensely talented. I suspect this unique and wonderful mixture is why she hasn't yet hit comedy superstardom - she doesn't please all of the people, all of the time.

she did a routine back in the early 90's about her boyfriend, how she got him to do housework. If anyone knows where I can find this please let me know, i've been searching everywhere and can't find it! thanks.. :D

@zarkbot88 right. It's like being a loud comedian. The volume of your voice doesn't make stuff funny. The material should be funny by itself.
She's awesome. She does her own thing, takes chances on her audience being intelligent. Good stuff

What I like about her is that she's not one of those wretched Chelsea Handler-esque 'blunt, sarcastic, tell-it-like-it-is'-style observational comediennes that always end up infesting the mainstream; she just stays in her own warped little sphere and invites us inside.
