Two still on run after fatal shooting

Two people still being sought over the fatal shooting of Navtej Singh should know "the game is up" and hand themselves in, police said today.

Police last night arrested three men and charged two with the murder Mr Singh, 30, who was shot in the chest at close range during a robbery at his Manurewa liquor store on Saturday night. He died 24 hours later.

Only one of those arrested was in the shop at the time of the shooting. Two others who were inside are still on the run.

Detective Inspector Jim Gallagher told media this morning the pair would "now know that the game is up and need to realise now is the time to give up".

"They are advised to make themselves known to police and avoid making a bad situation worse," he said.

Police, backed up by the armed offenders squad, arrested the three men, aged 17, 20 and 24, during overnight raids in areas including Manurewa and Mt Albert.

They also arrested a fourth person for possession and supply of cannabis.
