VHS magnetic tape of the film Dial M for Murder by Hitchcock, 3.5 minute video loop, video projector. Dimensions variable.
Videotape removed from a VHS copy of Hitchcocks Dial M for Murder forms a lattice of lines spreading across the exhibition space. A video animation is precisely aimed at these lines and moves along the tape, much as the head in the VCR would have done. The animation was inspired by Saul Bass credits for Hitchcocks films, as well as referrring to the filmmakers suspense plots.
