The above link is to the video of Joel Burns telling gay teens that "It gets better." I saw clips from the video on 10-15-10, and it nearly brought me to tears. Even though I'm not gay, it speaks to me. I wish I could have heard it years back when I was going through a hard time. This man is great, and this video is a blessing.
(and wow I look so disproportioned! well, that's what pregnancy does to you)

  • That is an awesome outlook YoungHollywood.... It supports Joel's concept. You did it, and others will too. I am 51 years old, (although not gay) but was picked on by all the bullys at school because I hung out with all the 'underdogs'. I guess we choose our path. But I also met some of those people (the bullys) years later in life.... and surprise surprise! Maturity, fixed them! Some of them anyways. But youth is too fragile to wait for bullies to mature... we gotta stop it now!

  • @kurohyou07 I agree completely. As I got to be a senior in high school, people that had been my friends suddenly turned on me. I had gay friends who never got bullied, yet I was bullied for being different. They couldn't accept that I would rather pursue artistic things instead of being immature, and they hated that I spent more time with older people. A lot has to change. And sooner the better.

  • And thankyou to everyone else :) Your replies are really appreciated. Very sweet! -hug back-

  • You are beautiful - not just for what you said in your video, but in every other way. Stay strong and beautiful! (And don't stop crying for things that make you sad, it's such an emotional cleanser to just cry it out - howl if you want - sometimes we all need to just cry it out.)

  • Great video! Love your voice too ;)

  • Wonderful words scatter brained girlfriend!!!!! Your post is perfect!!!!! Real! Thank you. I have no doubt that this will touch somebody who need you, if it hasn't already.

  • NIce girl and nice words

  • You seem like a nice, down to earth person. Thanks for your video, and you are right about life. Sometimes you have to move away to really know how good life can be, as well as people...

  • You are awesome. I plan on moving out to a big city with my girlfriend and the love of my life as soon as I can. Hate having to hear people bully gays and then knowing my parents probably won't accept it that I have a girlfriend

  • I truly wonder if it will really ever get better. The scars are carried well into adulthood!

  • @nutsbutdum thankyou!
