I found a copy of that issue where Ted describes how he dupes the "imbeciles in the armed forces."
The 1977 interview in High Times (Oct. 1977 No. 26) he describes in great detail how he did indeed soil himself for a week and snort crystal methedrine just prior to his examination to get a "big juicy 4-F" classification. His Selective Service classification record in out there for anyone who wants to see it... he was classified 4-F in 1972.
Nugent was not joking in the story

God, but I love reading the idiotic rantings of those who deride Ted. Their cluelessness is priceless. How many of their guitar heroes cashed in their chips over drugs or alcohol? I can't say I stayed as sober as Ted all my life, but Ted sure gave me a focal point. Now, if I wanna feel high, I pull out the bass or go to the range and unleash some hot lead. I haven't eaten meat in over 30 years, but I thank God for people like Ted who hunt and conserve the land properly, unlike PETA terrorists.
