@shock80s No, it's just rebuilding database, it's not formatting, so everything stays exactly how it was. Only thing it changed for me is making the blu ray drive work :)
PS: It still works :)

@rjascott Don't waste your money. They make special recessed lens cleaners for PS3s but it's usually just good for maintenance. It doesn't remove the nasty film build-up that causes problems. You can try applying alcohol to the cleaning disc (fling excess off first if you try it), which works on XBox sometimes but other you've got about a 5% chance it fixes anything on a PS3. Translation: You don't know shit.

Holy shit! I cannot believe this... after disassembling my bluray drive countless times adjusting and readjusting it after cleaning the lens and nothing working this kid saved my life... or maybe not life, but sure saved my $300.
I would never have thought rebuilding database would work, but I said to myself might as well try before I throw it out and it worked wonders!
