Germany and France A never ending Friendship

@RuchPolskichKielbas Well I don´t think Hitler and General Petin are still alive. History changes and friendships are born. We didn´t stay static over the past 67 years. We moved forwards into a better future. The post war era which lasts a lot longer already then the napoleonic wars, the first and second world war together, thats how a friendship between two big nations should look like.

You are right with your analysis! Talking about French-German friendship it is important to know that it was born out of fear and the wish for control, having in mind the future. After three wars (1870, 1914, 1940) one came to the conclusion something like that must never happen again. The best way to avoid this is "friendship". This thought was the main basement of the EU!

German politicians always name France and Poland as Germany's most important neighbours then.

States can't be friends, they may share interests and work together.

It is the different peoples', the citizens who are able to and who should establish a friendship between two nations!

The Franco German Friendship started after the WW2 it was signed in 1963 in Élysée Treaty. Not surprising poland never heard of it since they were under soviet rule still google is your friend no?

I am from Poland and this is the first time I've heard about Germany - France friendship. With all respect but what about both world wars :

First World War ; Entente powers and Central powers.

Morocco Crisis when France planned to make Morocco part of their empire and Germany threatend France to test the Entente powers.

Second World War : Hitler's occupation of France.

I don't think this is how a friendship between two big nations should look like.
