Stu Kerr, Royal Parker and Larry Lewman appear for the first (and probably last) time together in this TV story. They all hosted kids TV shows in the 1950s,60s and 70s.
Produced for Evening Magazine in Baltimore c.1986 by Tom D'Antoni

  • My dad was a radio/TV personality in Baltimore at that time-his name was Danny Sheelds--He was a "visiting pirate" for a week once on the Pete the Pirate show. He was an expert on the "Baltimorese" accent and did a WJZ special on TV with Royal. He was a friend of Royal and I met him many times myself. Dad was also a very good friend of Buddy Deane and Buddy came to his funeral. I would love to see more early Baltimore videos or be contacted by those who remember.

    Best regards,

    Bob S.

  • I remember your dad..."two E's if you pleeze."

  • Tom: Is that WJZ-TV's Mike Schuh doing the voice over? THANKS, Kap

    (RIP, Stu Kerr)

  • It's Jeff Pylant, the Evening Magazine co-host at the time and who couldn't read out loud very well.

  • Stu Kerr used to go to The Baltimore block and give blowjobs to gay guys who would jerk off watching porn movies. He also used to give oral sex to John kennelly,Ron Riley,Johnny Dark and Randy Blair.

  • @topp100golf I saw Danny Sheelds give Jerry Turner and Wiley Danials both a blowjob back in 1972.

  • Just found out Stu Kerr discovered Kevin Clash the creator of Elmo, amazing he is still an influence for kids years after his death. Thank Stu

  • Aw yeah, I remember Pete the Pirate. Saw him at an appearance at Reisterstown Road Plaza some time in the late '50s or early '60s. He had an authentic flintlock pistol which he fired into the air (loaded with powder but no ball, of course).

  • remember the end of "Caboose" when stu kerr always did that cocktails for two song?

  • What great memories. I was born in '48 so I spent many an hour mesmerized infront of our old Bendix TV set watching these talented individuals bring their characters to life. I also remember "Sunny" Stu Kerr doing commercials for Sunny's Surplus, and I believe he also hosted Dialing For Dollars. Does anyone remember watching Paul's Puppets featuring JoJo The Clown? Thanks for posting these great clips.

  • I feel like a kid again! Maybe Ashley Simpson took lessons from Stripey the puppet. If your recorded song fails on live TV and you can't sing, dance. Too funny!

  • I love these guys. I remember "Patches" as well. He used to sing folk songs. So many memories! Stu Kerr was also a master gardener.
