My 920c has the same huge cartridges (78 tricolor and 15 black), and yes they do cost quite some money. They used to be insanely expensive, now they come at 30 bucks per cartridge I think, which is at least 50% more than what you pay for a more modern day printer cartridge.
The black one prints +/- 495 pages of text. The tricolor one should last 450 pages.
I think these still stand their ground with 2400*1200 dpi printing. Use photopaper and it'll look even better. I love my HP 920c :)

I only had two printers in my life (been on the comp since 1994). My very first was a Canon Bubblejet 200, poor old thing, 360dpi and I throw it away last year. I feel sad, lol. Been my pall till I got a HP Deskjet 920c about 9 years ago. It's almost identical to the one in the clip.

2000? I wouldn't call it one of the first color inkjet printers. I have a deskjet 600C from 1995, and I still think there were many before that.

my modern hp printer has this light
ictdude1 1 year ago
@ictdude1 This light is used for the print head alignment.

I wonder if that blue light allows the printer to determine if the ink cartridges and heads are alligned correctly. What kind of iMac is that?
Lachlant1984 1 year ago
@Lachlant1984 The blue light is so the printer knows if the heads are aligned correctly. The iMac is a 400 MHz PowerPC G3 with 512MB of RAM. It is the later model with the slot-loading DVD-ROM drive.
