This 1700gram female ball python was purchased from Kijiji for $40. The woman I bought her from said she was selling her cheap because of the infection on her face. The woman also told me this snake had not eaten in over a year because of it which meant this infection on her face was a life threatening problem that needed to be fixed asap.

The operation was a success and the infection is gone. The ball python has resumed eating and has a long life ahead of her in my facility.

NOTE: If you are going to try this you must first sterilize the area and tape a dental bib down, wear nitrile/latex gloves and the syringe, scalpel blade, piercing needle must be pre-sterilized or sterilized in an auto-clave. Me and my friend work in the tattoo/piercing industry and have access to all of these things aswell as experience with scarification, implants and surgical suture techniques.

  • I'd like to boldly agree with everyone else (lol) - you guys did a great job and a great thing for a critter in need. Thank you for making the video! I wanted to ask, what did the snake seem to make of the whole business? (And has she since taken a shine to you two?)

  • I am not crazy about snakes but that is a sin- I am so glad someone helped her- way to go guys

  • thoes guys are champs!

  • great job guys!

  • poor snake. hope she feels better

  • what causes these?

  • QUESTION; Do you know if antibiotics would work if caught early, or what causes this??

I have a BP that has suddenly got what looks like the beginning of the same thing. My cages are constantly clean, she has been happy and healthy but now a 'bump' in the middle of the face. The vet has us using antibiotics.

  • well done

  • First, I gotta say that I'm pretty damn snake phobic, but when I saw this vid on PTZ I did click on it and decided I'd watch with an open mind. You guys are absolutely awesome. I cannot believe someone would let an animal suffer FOR A YEAR! This is not something I could ever do, but then that's why there's guys like you out there. You guys rock and there is one of earth's creatures alive and well because of you. Kudos to you! That poor thing must have suffered so.

  • Awsome job. You guys rock!

  • Good Job!! Now, It Can Get Back To Eating

  • @Adamsworth

Miramax was a little busy, what do you want dude, its a small sebaceous cyst removal...a vet could not have done a better job and the snake is thriving now. There are far larger things in this world to worry about!

  • That rocks!
