You know why that is... because a lot of players don't want to play in a hockey market where people care. Its the same thing with a bunch of other cities too. If you make a terrible play and cost the team a game, its not a big deal... chances are it doesn't even make the paper. In Edmonton we care about our hockey and we support our teams even when they aren't doing well. Thats a lot more than can be said about most of the teams in the league

Heh, that's because all the teams in the Southeast (except for the Caps) have a fanbase that has a nice chunk of it consisting of front-runners...
Case and point...
The 'Canes in 2006.
The Panthers in 1996.
The Lightning in 2004.
And the Thrashers in 2007.
