Depends on if you mean "Shaky Cam" or "Found Footage" movies or even "Shaky Cam Horror". Shaky Cam movies date back before 1980, notably Battles Without Honor and Humanity, which have to due with the Japanese Mafia(yakuza). All I know is these films are a hit or miss, I know I don't want to see someones feet for 30 minutes of the movie. I like when there is the camera, but kinda the God cam and the shaky cam.

Not entirely true. There are abandoned rail tunnels under most major cities and some can be dangerous places to venture in to. There could be hazards, toxic materials, or lurkers hanging about. I read that some abandoned rail tunnels in Austrailia were used for other purposes during WW2 including the storage of mustard gas and weapons. So although the tunnels are real the depictions in the film are fictional..
