Sorry for the poor lighting. It was difficult to get the camera to see the water clearly.

This is my 138 watt peltier cell freezing some puddles of water. I am running this off the 12v rail of a computer PSU, and it pulls about 4.5A, bringing the power consumption to 54 watts. To run this device at it's full load, I would have to increase the voltage supply to the peltier's rated maximum of around 19 volts, and I currently do not have a power supply to do this with.

The heatsink I am using is an Arctic Cooling Accelero Twin Turbo. Its dual fans are also running off the 12v supply. I was using this since it was previously being used on my ATi HD4850, but after I moved to an HD5770, it doesn't fit. As such, it was lying on the workbench, so I grabbed it.

  • how do i cool the hot side ?

  • @yyhaoyue A large heatsink and fan. I was using an old dual-fan GPU cooler in this video, but you can use pretty much anything as long as it dissipates enough thermal energy.
