This "guilty until proven innocent" bullshit from YouTube regarding DMCA's and flagging has to come to an end.
I'm at pains to understand how they can do business like this at all since EVERYONE is vulnerable to false DMCA and flagging.

I've been saying this since I first got on YouTube. Flagging is way too easy! The person doing the flagging should have to give his/her reasons and be able to back them up. Believers in Free Speech have to stand up on this!

I agree with you, and this was exactly the problem that led to my suspension. But it's different with Coughlan, these are DMCA claims, which are separate from video flagging. DMCA claims are not YT policy but are actually copyright law.
