Clip from December 14, 2011, The Rachel Maddow Show where Rachel interviews former George Bush era Republican State Department Chief of Staff to Colin Powell, Col. Lawrence Wilkerson, about the unceremonious end of the Iraq War. Wilkerson blasts Republicans, who favor extending the Iraq War indefinitely. • Everyone should go to MSNBC and watch the full segment for full effect. Thanks for posting.

  • @XavierMacX, Excellent suggestion. I edited it down to focus on the Wilkerson interview (which I thought was stunning/excellent) and to fit youtube attention spans. The full video, which covers significantly more ground, can be viewed at: msnbc(.)msn(.)com/id/3096434/ (remove parens, copy & paste into browser) - scroll down to Video Highlights > Shows > Maddow > "GOP Iraq Pullout Or Just Opposing Obama?"

  • The modern Republican Party is not conservative: they are radical and reactionary.

  • @incitebytes Awesome! Indeed, the interview was wonderful. Rachel Maddow does a lot of great segments. I don't always agree with her, but thank you for being one of the few people that puts up her good stuff. Cheers.

  • Remember this: The next step for GOP/Fox will be to cut benefits and support for veterans. It may not happen until we're out of Afghanistan but it will happen. It always dos.

  • Holy shit what a blasting of the reds.

  • Thank you.

  • The US had lost once and for all moral leadership as a consequence and it´s only a matter of time until the US empire will vanish.

The desperate attempts of the estabilshment by turning the US into a de facto fascist military dictatorship will not change this nor can they buy time with this. Either the criminal actions covered up by the vast propaganda apperatus will be prosecuted or the US will be forced to do it sooner or later.

It´s freefall for now and it´s the impact that hurts..

  • OMG! Sorry but this retreat was overdue and short of being of the same disastrous magnitude that the Saigon flight was.

Irak is in ruins, in Afghanistan the Taliban will even become part of the new gov.

If only Bush I had managed it better then maybe US strategic objectives´d lasted but this is a Pyrrhic victory.

  • I have admired Lawrence Wilkerson for a very long time. It is nice to see an honest and outspoken Republican who is not just hell bent to gain power at the expense of sanity.
