Who cares? This is essentially the same question so many people have asked me over the years. Of course, they don't mean anything by it BUT it is insulting. I have taken many excellent photos with the Kodak Brownie that I bought years ago for $2 at a yard sale. Timing, location and composition are much more crucial than sophisticated equipment.

I saw the documentary on Ragnar on a Singapore Airways flight, and love his work. This video is just as good. From a photographer's prespective, he is just fantastic. I will have to buy his book....

Ragnar Axelsson is one of my favourite photographers. I would describe him as a photographer’s photographer.

Given that the Arctic sea Ice extent (JAXA) is trending back up towards its 1980s average and that today on 3 june 2012, (less than 3 weeks from the summer solstice), 90% of the area within the Arctic Circle is still below 0 degrees C!!! I think the title 'Last Days of the Arctic' has silly scary Greenie ring to it. Most excellent photos though!
