  • what are the other pickups other than the fs-1 in his original red strat?

  • @tannerr96

    the stock ones

  • @IngoRaven this may sound stupid but what are the stock ones. and since he likes to play using the bridge and middle pickup now, does that mean i can get the texas specials to put in those positions to get his sound that he has now and then put the fs-1 in the neck pickup? i dont know that much about pickups

  • @tannerr96

The stock ones are the ones that came with the guitar, they did not have any name at that time (just "Stratocaster pick-up"), and they were not available separately. As it is a 61 Strat, you will get close with any good replicas of a vintage Strat pick-up, as they are availabe from many different manufacturers. The Texas specials are a bit hotter than a standard vintage PU. Of course you can mix them as you want.

  • Check out the new VFS-1 pickup that gives you both sounds from one pickup!

  • Honestly, I think the tone you're getting here is related more to your personal choice of amp and the FX units you've chosen than it is to the FS-1 pickup. In fact, I strongly suspect that you'd get the very same (fat) tone out of the stock Fender neck pickup if you were to simply apply a clean boost to it, something like (say) the EP Booster. Great tone though!

  • Greetings Ingo!

Kudos on some fabulous playing and fabulous tone! The DiMarzio FS-1 neck pickup clearly seems to be a big part of the tonal puzzle here, but I'm curious, don't you run into some serious balance issues when using a super-hot pickup like the FS-1 (wound to a whopping 13-14k) in the neck position with typically under-wound (vintage) bridge and middle pickups (usually wound to 6-7k)?

  • @CDNBOBify

yes absolutely. I have rosewood and maple fretboard strats and they sound very much different.

  • could the maple neck vs. the rosewood be a huge tone factor..?????

  • Are all the pickups dimarzio fs 1 pickups put on the guitar?

  • Terrific!

  • That is a FANTASTIC demo! (one more) but could you teach us how to play the "rake" with finger style you play at 0:27/28 and at 1:52 with the fiesta Red?

Thank you for this video and for the rest.
