§.Low moisture of around 8-10% for easy and efficient firing.

§.It gives much higher boiler efficiency compared to firewood or loose biomass because of lower moisture, higher bulk density and lower ash content.
§.There is no fly-ash when briquettes are burnt.
§.Combustion is more uniform compared to coal and boiler response to changes in steam requirement is faster due to higher quantity of volatile matter in briquettes.
§.It is inexhaustible because it is produced every year and so forms a source of renewable energy.
§.It is non-polluting because it has no Sulphur like coal or oil.
§.Cheapest renewable fuel and most suitable for boilers.
