Gillian comes from the Isle of Arran, where she was introduced to traditional Scots and Irish music at an early age. In January 2001 Gillian was the inaugural winner of the Young Scottish Traditional Musician Award. Since then she has been rapidly gaining experience in all areas of traditional music, using her talents as fiddle player and singer in both performing, recording and teaching contexts, and in 2002 graduated from The Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama with BA (Scottish Music) Hons degree. Her tunes and arrangements can be heard on recordings by Back of the Moon, The Bar Room Mountaineers and Queen Anne's Revenge.
Islay fiddler Rebecca Brown has been playing the fiddle since the age of nine, and has seen her style mature with each passing year, absorbing traditional fiddle styles from her native Scotland, Ireland and the USA. Currently performing nationally and internationally with the traditional group "Canterach" and "The Perfect Squeeze". Rebecca is currently studying her third year in the BA Hons Applied Music at Strathclyde University.
