Tobacco deaths rarely make headlines, but the World Health Organization says tobacco smoke kills one person every six seconds. Studies have shown that tobacco smoke is not just deadly for tobacco users. Those who breathe in smoke from other people's cigarettes also have an increased risk for heart attacks. A new study shows that smoking bans have significant health benefits for everyone. VOA's Carol Pearson has more.

  • AHH - just realised that comments need approval HA! that's why there are none showing nor will mine I expect - can you not get ANY gullible to write a good comment?

You cannot hide much longer - more people are waking up to the threat to decent society that the parasites who infest 'tobacco control' represent! It is all starting to fall apart for anti-smokers!

Whistleblowing may be the only get out - but remember only the first few will benefit - wait too long and others will beat you to it!

  • bull shit and lies

  • I laugh at people because they think they will never die now w/the smoking bans?

Everyone will die the same way & time as before them.

Now everyone get drunk & high on drugs since society bullies the poor smokers.

Then get behind the wheel & run their little asses over.

    Smoking never did effect driving?

    But Alcohol does!

    But thats not banned?

  • Apologies for my impatience but it is quite common for pro-choice comments to be censored. The smoke/heart attack 'miracles' are right at the top of a widespread anti-smoker deception. The video sounds so believable but the Pueblo/Helena/Scottish studies etc are some of the best examples of bare faced junk science and unbelievable incompetence.

Many are discredited the velvetgloveironfist website (google it)

Respect and thanks for allowing my comments.

  • This is total crap. ALL the many studies that claim heart attacks have decreased BECAUSE of the smoke ban have been totally DISCREDITED. Anti-tobacco are frantic to find some - ANY evidence that the reduction in smoking has resulted in better health - they cannot. ALL so called 'smoke related' diseases eg cancer, asthma etc have INCREASED in line with the decrease in smoking. Heart attacks HAVE reduced but not because of smoking reduction - still the biggest killer of over 50's NEVER SMOKERS!
