  • Three great scenes; this, Richard Burton's closing monologue in 'Equus', and Maggie Smith in the classroom at the end of 'The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie'. Genius, the likes of which we won't see again.

  • Guinness and Mills were superb in this film.

  • It is alleged that this was Hitchcock's favourite film - and he probably knew quality when he saw it!
