Rep. James Lankford (R-OK), Chairman of the Oversight and Government Reform Subcommittee on Technology, discusses the importance of improving USASpending.gov, the Office of Management and Budget's project to provide a publicly-accessible, searchable website that tracks federal spending on grants and contracts. Currently, the website fails to fulfill its goal and is riddled with errors.

Oversight and Government Reform Subcommittee on Technology, Information Policy, Intergovernmental Relations and Procurement Reform hearing on "Transparency through Technology: Evaluating Federal Open-Government Efforts." The hearing examined Congressional and Administration efforts to improve government transparency through information technology, with an emphasis on improving public access to accurate information regarding federal spending.
