@ThePodgyPanda lol you ppl hating on LL too much... if you actually know anything that "conductor" is Daniel Barenboim who is a highly accomplished and respectable piano maestro himself. He was the teacher of LL at that time when the video was taken so he probably taught LL how to play this piece. It was just a thumbs up from a teacher. Haters like you being nitpicky just about everything but don't even know who Barenboim is tells others about yourself just as much.

@ThePodgyPanda Maybe the conductor has not much of that expectation..And I assume Lang Lang's favorite spread is marmalade... In one video he was good but here. what an arrogant pretender who thinks he is the best in the world. This is a waste of time watching this cowboy..

What is with the thumbs up the conductor gives lang lang at 0:49? It is as if he is a small child that needs a lot of encouragement.

I would hate to play in the orchestra with him as a soloist. He just butchers the piece with ridiculous rubato.

If you take the "showboating" equation out of Lang Lang, you still have a very talented and highly developed pianist. Maybe not to everyone's liking, but still an extremely high level of skill. I like some things he plays but not others. Dislike his Chopin, love most of his Liszt.

YOu know I hope I dont sound like a fool here but I only just started listening to tchaikovsky now at 29 and what can I say.....I have been missing out!
