  • Maybe it isn't a good idea to promulgate a recipe that use raw egg yolks which may not be safe these days. I think you can buy pasteurized egg yolks near the eggs at major stores. Years ago I had a recipe for buttercream frosting with one egg yolk, and I just left it out. My family loves that buttercream frosting, but I use half butter for flavor and a little milk or cream if I have it to get the right spreading consistency. Then add about a teaspoon of real vanilla extract, use right away.
