Does Ohio Revised Code- 505.172 "Noise control" offer any relief? I'm surprised your town wouldn't create a law on your (their) own behalf against this type of thing? I wonder how they would feel if this were in their back yard? What will you do?

1. Get an attorney. Most should jump on it. If you were in a factory, OHSA would reuire you all to wear hearing protection. Lawyers love to sue "deep pockets" companies and may do it on a contingency basis.

That sounds like an ESD test, which happens once a year. I guess that's the price we pay as americans to have clean burning energy that comes from the US and will drop our dependance on foreign oil!

Wish that were true. The guys who work at that plant are really nice guys, good people to us always and we like them. These guys stop over and tell us every time they schedule a blowdown. Prior to 05, it did happen that often. But we don't know why conditions have changed, and we don't blame them, only company policy that is leaving us w/ these conditions. They could do changes to help and can buy us out if it's not cost effective. but they won't.

I forgot to add, this was not a scheduled blow down that we knew about, we have never complained about those, which do not happen often. Our continual problems mostly have been East Ohio Dominion's plant. Which has been the worst. They ultimately caused us to not be able to take it anymore, just this week must of had at least 20+ blowdowns. They happen middle of night, 3am, all hrs ALL of the time. Come to my house and see for yourself.

2. Make local government feel your pain. Confront your mayor or board of trustees at church in front of people and give them some guilt. Have your kids tell everyone how they are effected by the noise. This may help to pass a law to help you on the local level.
3. Call Erin Brockovich(seriously)
4. Shoot it up!!(not seroiusly)
5. Follow plant manager to his house. Wait until 2AM and blow your truck horn for the rest of the night. If he comes out, say, "how do you like it asshole?"(seriously)

thanks, believe me #4 is something we've been trying like hell to not do. PUCO,ODNR,EPA and our local courts advised they have no jurisdiction over this. It's hard on our ears, they ache from the the lower frequency noise that is continuous. It goes right thru our home, to the point we have had to make our basement our bedroom, just to be able to sleep. East Ohio Dominion has been blowing off at 3 and 4am all morning long continuously. We have a lot of video as proof.
