The server is rarely wrong when determining if a shot hits. That is, the server will never say you hit when you did not, through the perspective of the server, hit the player where the server (coordinately speaking) has observed the player to be.
The server could care less about the visible position you see the character at. That is a handicap for humans, to see.
well, it isn't really him missing. You see, when you play MW2 in an other country then in America, the kill cam gets fucked up. All the servers being in USA, and i for instance live in Sweden, my game winning kills often look very different from how the kill looked when i did it myself. And very often i shoot a guy right before he shoots me, and my shot doesn't appear on the kill cam...
