I've shot with both, so here are my comments. The 40D is a great camera. The D300 is just more advanced. Watch the video and remember...they're just cameras!

  • Except that the D300 still beats the 7D for dynamic range which is pretty important. So IQ on the D300 and ISO is better overall. The 7D would have been superior, but they tried to add to many MP to the sensor.

  • d300s is suitable to compare with 7D. and the 7D are so totally win over the nikon d300s in many aspect

  • i like the thumbwheel's on the back of the canon camera.............

  • loved mt d300 so much, was my second camera after a d70, but now im all good i got d700 woot!

  • Try shooting the D300s and 7D on a paid job and you'll quickly understand why the D300 is still the best pro DX model around. It will out-focus the 7d and get more shots in focus. This has been observed by a lot of users. As a family camera, the 7D is fine.

  • you read too much ken rockwell shit and believe blindly in what DXo numbers really mean = absolutely nothing. Oh yeah, the D300 beats the 7D because it has .12% more dynamic range that the 7D. What a kind of geaks get into this? maybe the ones that enjoy ginving ken rockwell a blowjob

  • Hardly a review .....but good as far as it goes.

I like Nikon, I bought into Nikon last year but used Canon for many years. I like the nice rounded "fits in the hands" feel of Nikon, canon feels more square with corners and edges.

The one thing I wont do is knock either if these great manufacturers in a "one is better than the other" argument they each have their strengths and weaknesses.

  • GOOD INPUT!!!
