Wow, that is saying something since I am a dog trainer, and have been for several years. I have dealt with many children and their friends, and I shall tell you that they are GREAT with pets. Maybe you weren't good with pets as a kid, but there are many children that are responsible, loving caregivers. Don't lump everyone together into your singleminded ideas.

They may not be good substitutes for real pets, but that's not technically what they're supposed to be anyway. They're toys, and quite good toys at that.
