Yes, the truck was getting a new rear link suspension installed. This included a new bed and rear frame.

This was filmed on a private ranch and rock quarry, this is not public land. When the cows graze this plot of land they strip it clean each and every year. Then the tractors come in to remove and haul away the quarried rock. Nothing done here is damaging anything.

The truck was getting converted from rear leaf spring to to rear links. Cutting off the back was the first step in the conversion.
