  • wow. if Bruce B. was that good a player in 1972, I can only imagine how good he is at playing today (assuming he still plays). As for the sound, I cant shake the feeling they recorded this guitar direct to console. It probably would have sounded better played thru an amp (especially for the rock tones). Anyways, RIP the great Les Paul.

  • @REALCougarsRmales Gotta take into account that I got this from an old thin flexidisc I got from a 40 year old magazine. Those flexidiscs never had good fidelity even on the first play, and wore our fast. That may have something to do with the sound.

  • its a les paul recording, not recorder.

hear out loud, just to let you know, for more hits :)

  • The "Les Paul Recorder" is the name of the guitar being demoed.

  • @jafafah0ts The guitar's model name actually is "Les Paul Recording."

  • @ToastmachineIdiot I was going by what the printed materials accompanying the record say.

  • Rest. In. Peace. Les Paul 1915-2009.

  • Holy cow! I remember listening to this little disc over and over as a kid! My favorite part was the "You wanna get highs? Get a load of this!" part.

  • Had this disc...out of Guitar Player. Had a Les Paul Custom at the time too...big stuff for a 17 year-old back then.

  • I wish I could meet Les Paul D":

  • I never thought I would hear this record again.. .. I used to play it over and over as a kid...I was definitley into rock but that " great Wes Montgomery sound" riff was something I used to try over and over to play...now hearing it 40 years later I think I can finally do it.. thanks very much.. JT

  • I respect Les Paul but must admit that alot of those guitar sounds demoed were almost totally unusable, IMO

  • I have a LP Rec. Strange thing is that I have never seen anyone like mine. All the nob-controls in one stright line, not like any other pictures I´ve seen of it.

  • @REALCougarsRmales Believe it or not, the low-impedance pickups were made to connect to an XLR (3-prong mic) output jack that would allow you to connect your guitar directly to the console.

  • @jafafah0ts No no no. I own 5 of them. It's called Gibson LES PAUL RECORDING. NOT a 'recorder' wrong.
