Hello,
I want to purchase a camera AG-HMC150P PANASONIC, but the price is over my budget.
However, do you think that it is safe to bid on ebay for a camera like this one.
PLEASE HELP WITH ADVICE.
THANK YOU.

@legaCsk8er4 You can test a short clip at my HowNowVideo(dot)com website under the Free Download link. I used to work on a similar machine as you have. Editing was a little clunky, but still okay.

@dteubner i have a dual core 64 bit computer. Would that be too slow for this camera?

Premiere Pro CS3 does not support AVCHD.

Hello, I actually just bought the HMC150, and was wondering if you had any suggestions for a type of tripod to go along with it?

@mirakoff That's a tough question. There are so many choices. If you're going to just lock down the tripod for a "talking head" interview, almost any tripod will do. If you need to get fluid follow-the-action, then a fluid head style. I use a Manfrotto 501. My tripod doesn't have locking legs, so I can move the feet close and stand in a small space. Some tripod legs are interlocked, and expand and contract together. Perhaps ask your question at dvxuser(dot)com in their HMC150 blog area.

I'm running Adobe Premiere CS3, any clue how it will handle AVCHD?

@shitsandgigglesforu Your best bet is to transcode it into DVCHD Pro, or another format first. There are many converters out there to shop for. If you have an appropriate nvidia card, Badaboom!, a product from nvidia can convert it quickly. I talk a bit about such conversions in my YouTube video AVCHD Tips and Tricks.
