No, 2 x 4870x2 means that there are 2 graphics cards who have 2 gpu each so 2x2 = 4gpu`s.

depends how you look at things : 5870 has 1 gpu and 4870x2 has 2 gpu`s and they get the almost the same fps with les power consumption !!! and also these drivers are beta drivers, i will update the results when new ones come out.

@demon69120 i bet it cant max out GTA IV @ 1920x1200. I have dual 5770's and i cant even get close to maxing it out. (3,4GHz quad cpu and 8gb 1333 ram)

the 5870 still supports dx 11. so on a dx 11 game it will out perform the 2x 4870x2

You forget a 4870 x2 is $200 on ebay and performs single a bit better than a 5870, which is enough to max out anygame at any resolution so I don't see the point of crossfire.

A 4870 x2 x2 is like using 4 different cards.. not as efficient as a 2 card config.

also i forgot to mention those scores look about right since the 5870 is 2x faster then a 4870 and about tad faster or in some cases the same speed but that's only if crossfire scales well. if not then the 5870 will be faster then the 4870x2

also tessellation has been around for years and finally being one of the main feature in dx11. it would of been used sooner but because of nvidia and persuading and paying off companies just to make there hardware look more appealing to the consumer that tech has been hold back. it's cause of nvidia that we haven't advance tech wise sooner and were finally starting to see these advancements being implied in dx11

the 5870 is worth the money.you might not think so but others do. reason why price is increasing cause of high demand for the product and no competition from nvidia. competition is what drives the price ranges. right now nvidia is struggling to get a dx11 gpu cause they never actually done a new architect since 8 series.i guess that's what they get for there years of rebranding stuff.

gta 4 is horribly optimized. any rig will struggle with that crap cause of bad optimizations to the really bad ports they put out and i don't get the COD thing. COD games are not demanding at all and can be played on wide ranges of selection of gpus. even a old 7300gt will have no problem pushing out playable frames on MW2
