A SHORT CLIP OF THE FINISHED JUPITER 2 DISPLAY ON THE PRESENTATION BASE. THE "YELLOW CIRCLE" IN THE ASPHALT, HAS BEEN SCORCHED FROM THE "FUSION CORE'S" HEAT. THIS TYPE OF SET WAS USED IN EPISODE "VOYAGE TO A HOSTILE PLANET", WHERE THE ROBINSONS GO BACK TO POST-WWII USA, IN THE LATE 40'S. THE SCENE WAS AN AIR FORCE BASE, J2 WAS ON AN ASPHALT TARMAC RUNWAY, NEAR SOME STORAGE BUILDINGS AND GUARD HOUSES.

  • Now if U could make it fly we would be in business

  • @Barnabas45 Working on that, can't get the superconducters and the antigrav plates to fit inside yet.

  • This is very nice with attention to detail. I am still waiting for someone out there to construct a larger replica model used on the series as opposed to these downsized versions. The original Jupiter 2model used on the series was 4 feet in diameter. I have seen a few photos & YouTube videos of the original J2.

  • Would be an expensive kit no doubt. I think Jim Key at Custom Replicas makes a 4 footer, not sure on that, Google it if your interested, he does great work.

  • Thanks for the tip. Through Custom Replicas I found a DVD containing photos & a construction guide how the 48 inch model was made. No one seems to have a model that size.

  • Jeez, where would you put it?? Maybe in a Game room or something like that, or in a Lobby in a case.

For now it seems the 18 inch Moebius is the way to go. I haven't been impressed with some 24 inch versions.

  • I don't quote prices on public sites, will pm you OK Othur?

  • How much does something like this run?

  • Thanks again Othur! Didn't we all want to be Will Robinson on the J2, as kids? Gosh, I sure did! Oddly enough, I got an order for one of these babies just this morning, real happy about that! In these times, I don't get as many orders as I used to, thank God some folks still find hand-made work is worth the price!!

Lost, but not Spaced, take care! :)
