Did I say 4 strings rule, let me take that back. Man, I wish I also had a Roscoe or Ken Smith 7-string

  • Blue Steel, are my first choice.

  • Hey sir I actually thought this was an interesting demo of the Conklin bass. I dunno what's up with all these jerk comments on YouTube but I guess most of those people are just wannabe bass players who think they're pros. But yeah you know your way quickly around that tree trunk of a neck.

    I think it's funny how people play a 7 string like a guitar. It tricks the listener's ears: "It's a guitar... no it's a bass... oh it's a 7 string bass."

  • @bmiranda2645, I engineer, produce, and too many other talents in music professionally

to have time to Post videos all this time. This video was about 3 years old after a late night in the studio.

I'd like to see some of these HATING bass players be INNOVATIVE IN PLAYING,

Instead of only playing what they copied from someone else.

    note to the uncreative:

YOU CAN NOT SCREW UP WHEN YOU PRACTICE COPYING SOMEONE

ELSE'S BASS LICKS, OR THAT JUST MAKES YOU A REAL SCREWED UP BASS PLAYER

  • @nsxaj yes I totally get what you mean sir. Many musical folks just can't seem to get away from trying to be like some famous artist. When will they learn that originality is a more respectable skill?

I'll admit I love many famous musicians and will always play their songs, but I know I will never be them and so I do not waste effort trying to copy and perfect their every mannerism... too many silly folks on YouTube that try too hard to copy or expect everyone to be their idols.

  • @bmiranda2645, now if every could relate to bmiranda2645's statement then they would

understand Jaxsn, and even their idols.

In the long run a musician has to make a choice,....

Do you consider yourself a Musician - (talent)?

    or

Do you consider yourself an Artist - (Creator)?

Either way is ok, but one WILL dominate the other.

I've always considered myself more of an artist than a musician,

the Bass Guitar is just one of my tools, that happens to support

    my desire to create.

  • if you say play it like a bass, dont use it as a solo insterement. yes take solos on it but keep the low end.
