    Its one of those hilarious Bette Davis classics that never grow weary, and even a young Marilyn Monroe pops up, how ironic is it that she plays a star on the rise just as she was off screen? Eve is pure ambition in womanly form, Anne Baxter plays her with such acid and self-belief that she seems to copy Margo as a fan, but then you realise she's just using her to get to the top. I also love George Sanders as her critic counterpart, both in ambiguous sexuality and nasty verve. Masterpiece.
