rad man ,I was 4 when Joy division came along, my dad used to play them heaps before surfing, then i began to surf and skate, now im 38 and listening to Joy division with my son and yup surfing and skating.... it will never end,

anyone who says they don't like joy division or any other band for that matter because they're "too depressing" is entirely missing the point

what makes a band good or bad is how evocative they are

the type of emotions they evoke are always going to be secondary compared to the skill with which they evoke them
