I think they all did great. As for Joss "trying to hard" I know what you mean, but I think sometimes she just gets really into the song. I mean she has a natural beautiful voice so she doesn't have to try that hard, but I do get what your saying. I'm just a huge Joss fan. She's my favorite singer. So I always defend her lol.

I don't know why....we seem to really celebrate white singers for that "ounce" of soul? Joss stone is hit and miss with me and this is a miss indeed. Just overdone. And the ones that defend this are those who don't know what its like to grow up with real soul; Patti, Aretha, Gladys, Anita, Minnie, Phylis, Chaka, and then can't understand why Ms. Stone does not excite me? I think if I really need soul from a Stone, Ima stick with ANGIE STONE.

I guess everyone has his opinion. And all of them should be respected.
Me, for instance, I love the way Joss sings and I love the music she makes, especially her "Introducing..." album. It's a piece of art.
On the other hand - it is not my fault I did not grow up with the 60's, 70's, 80's etc. Soul legends... I was born later in time. But I know what good music is. And just because XY is like almost the best in the world, doesn't mean someone else can not be good too :)
