This scene was shot during the filmmakers first day in Gaza with Dr. Tarazi, as they drive past devastated homes by the sea and visit strawberry farms in Beit Lahiya on the northern frontier with Israel. Dr. Tarazi speaks about the dangers of farming on his own land, especially with the tragic use of white phosphorous during the war, while we continue picking strawberries together at sunset.
The scene begins in Arabic (without subtitles), but continues in English thereafter.
This video footage was shot in January 2010 as part of an upcoming documentary film called "Strawberries, Roosters and the Chocolate Seas" by Nitin Sawhney and Roger Hill.
