  • How does the Zotero Firefox extension get the Zotero OpenOffice extension installed into OpenOffice, without any user intervention?

  • If you're using the new version, you have to install a second Firefox extension that installs the extension in OpenOffice.

  • Yeah it's that I'm wondering about, how the .oxt file within the Firefox extension, is able to be installed into OpenOffice via the OpenOfice extension manager. Isn't that a big scary security issue?

  • Yeah, it could be seen that way. But you have to manually install the firefox addon in order for it to install the OpenOffice extension. So, it doesn't do it without you wanting it.
