Garage doors are not toys. If a spring failed, or a roller came off the track, or the opener's carriage somehow fell loose of the mechanism, and the door fell on that kid, he would be either badly hurt or **KILLED**.
I have worked for a couple garage door companies, and know what damage some of these components are capable of.
read the warning labels that come with newer openers. "Do not allow children to play in the area of the garage door, or play with the operator controls."
