In this week's episode of Know Your Drug, Brothers Matt Diehl and Nickolas Smithmyer discuss the prescription drug Plavix (Clopidogrel). Plavix is commonly prescribed to prevent strokes, heart attacks, and blood clots. This information is a general guideline and is not meant to replace physician orders. Patients using Plavix should use this medication according to their prescriber!
Do you guys usually refer to drugs using the trade name? In med school we always just use the generic. I guess we'll learn trade names later.
