One StreetS Festival

On Saturday 5 June, a group of young people from the Cyprus Network for Youth Development organised a mobile street festival that took place at three points of the divided Nicosia street - Ledra/Lokmacı. The festival, called 'One StreetS; included capoeira, drumming circles, live bands, djs and various dance groups. The purpose of the festival was to bring people together and celebrate multiculturalism along this main shopping street in Nicosia, which has been divided since 1974. A checkpoint between the two halves of the street opened in April 2008.
