bela lugosi died half way through the making of this movie and his dentist took his place in the movie. thats why he covers his face the whole time

he actually died before the movie even started and the entire film's plot was based around some stock footage ed wood had of him from before his death. ed wood realized about halfway through the making of the film, however, that he needed a replacement, so he phoned up his chiropractor

the fact that this movie was meant to star a guy who was dead before the production even started just makes it that much better
